JDC Uganda, in collaboration with Edutech Club and Philinat, has launched a transformative Content Mentorship Programme aimed at empowering Uganda’s youth and media professionals with storytelling skills. In a media landscape increasingly affected by misinformation, this program is set to change the narrative.
In today’s digital world, where news and stories shape our understanding of society, the rise of misinformation poses serious challenges. Poor-quality content and fake news are not only misleading but also erode public trust in media. In response, JDC Uganda, Edutech Club, and Philinat have joined forces to introduce the Content Mentorship Programme—a hands-on initiative to foster authentic, impactful storytelling among Uganda’s youth and media personnel.
Through this program, we aim to tackle the roots of misinformation and raise the standards of media. Participants will gain practical skills in content creation, media literacy, and ethical storytelling. They’ll learn how to research, verify, and share stories that are accurate, inspiring, and grounded in truth. We believe that storytelling should support policy advocacy, improve health communication, and strengthen the fabric of our society by informing, educating, and inspiring.
This isn’t just training; it’s the start of a movement to create an information culture that values integrity, supports public health initiatives, and empowers communities with knowledge. Stay tuned as we share more updates on the first cohort of trainees!
